It is a tragedy that this fire occured, but why would they not offer the FD any co-operation? It is wonderful that donations are coming in but it is completely irresponsible that so many of them are uninsured. B’H’ nobody was injured, but why do so many people expect others to take care of them? If people were responsible homeowners and citizens, after an incident like this, they would be greatly inconvenienced for a short while and when their insurance claim was settled they would be able to begin again. I realize that many things such as photos, seforim and Shabbas licht may be irreplacable, but most things can be replaced with insurance money.
