Some of these tests are no good -Some are needed and some are for CYA.
It's a simple lie to say "There is no evidence that tight “glycemic control” – which is widely practiced – is beneficial, said the American Geriatrics Society."

This is getting scary. Obamacare with his popularity on having socialized medicine must of put these people up to this because there are studies that say tight control is beneficial. Obama wants to cut tests to cut costs.
Also I agree that tests like CT for minor head injuries are only for CYA, but since our laws are Sue for anything & everything - how are you going to convince the Med Prof not to order CT's? Are you going to stop them from being sued?
We live in very scary times. In Europe, socialized medicine basically tranlates to practicing preventive medicine -once sick they really don't care to treat you -they just chalk you up as a statistic. Is this what Americans really want? Are their No morals left in Socialist/Communist societies?

Not mentioned is whether a biopsy is called for when a mans PSA level increases. The accuracy of PSA scores has come under question. Doctors hedge on going forward sometimes, but I believe they are better off to error on the side of caution and do the biospy rather than not.
