US Stock Closings 8/26/08

US stocks advanced, rebounding from the biggest drop in a month, as higher oil prices boosted energy shares and analysts said Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have enough capital to last the year.

The S&P 500 rose 4.67 points, or 0.4 percent, to 1,271.51. The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 26.62 points, or 0.2 percent, to 11,412.87 and the Nasdaq Composite Index slipped 3.62 to 2,361.97.
