PHOTOS: MDA And Hatzoloh Teaching First Aid And CPR In Uman

In light of the increasing need for first aid and emergency services in the Jewish community in the city of Uman, Ukraine, a first aid course has begun in Uman. The course is delivered by MDA instructors who arrived especially from Israel.

Eighteen members of the local Breslov community are taking part in the course, which will certify them as Hatzoloh responders in the Ukraine. Upon successful completion of the course, they will receive equipment to permit them to respond to medical emergencies as well as serving as first responders when many visit the tziyun of Rav Nachman ZT”L ZY”A, i.e. for Rosh Hashanah.

Head of Ukraine Hatzoloh Rav Hillel Cohen explains, “After the murder of Shmuel Menachem Tubul HY”D by anti-Semites on the yahrzeit of Rav Nachman of Breslov ZT”L a number of years ago, and in light of recent medical events during the year and the lack of an immediate response from local emergency medical services, resulting in death R”L, the decision was made to provide the first aid course in Uman. Following many delays and technical problems, the course was finally held and B’chasdei Hashem, it will continue for several weeks until completion”.
