Gafne Comments On Investigations Into PM Netanyahu’s Alleged Illegal Activities

In his capacity as a member of the panel addressing a Belz camp, MK Moshe Gafne comments on police investigations against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, giving him his support as he stated he believes elections will take place as scheduled, in 2019, and not before.

Gafne was asked if he would sit in a government headed by Yair Lapid. He said, “Tommy Lapid was better than his son as there were areas he worked with us against missionaries for example. Lapid is just opposed – in addition to the fact his wife separates challah and he wears a kipah visiting the Kosel”.

Regarding the current situation, he explained he feels the current coalition will complete its term and elections will not take place ahead of 2019. “The government is not going to be toppled unless something occurs, as one can never know, but things being what they area, it will not fall. What I feel I must say to someone in the opposition will be two years from now”.

The discuss then turned to the investigations against PM Netanyahu. He explains they are working their hardest to topple Mr. Netanyahu and to date, without success. “There is no one in the opposition to can compete against him, at least one with a good chance to win over him in elections”.

He explained that since there is no one who can beat him fairly in election

ns, they are fabricating various charges in the hope of taking him down this way.

“They continue checking the lawbooks in order to find just under what paragraph they can topple him. I sit with the prime minister at least once a week. He does not appear too concerned. I know him and he is extremely careful and for me it is hard to believe what they are saying about him”.
