Organization Representing Israel’s Disabled Community Threatens To Go Back To The Streets In Protest

According to leaders of the organization representing disabled Israelis, all of the points agreed upon with government officials have been violated and they are compelled to go back into the streets and protest. For one thing, their monthly stipend from the national government is supposed to be on par with the average national salary and this has yet to occur despite promises and assurances.

Ironically, just last week the agreement was announced during a press conference that included PM Netanyahu, Welfare Minister Chaim Katz, Director-General of the Finance Ministry Shai Babad, calling the agreements “a historic move”. One of the comments made during the press conference is “They are not a half person”, and this is going to be the slogan leading the renewed battle, this time demanding implementation of the agreements signed.

It appears the protests are going to resume, beginning on Sunday, 27 Teves, coinciding with the weekly cabinet meeting.
