Baruch Dayan Emmes: Mekubal Rav Nissim Moiyal ZATZAL

Baruch Dayan Emmes: Mekubal Rav Nissim Moiyal ZATAL was niftar in Eretz Yisrael on Monday afternoon, 6 Shevat, at the age of 83. The rav was hospitalized numerous times as his health deteriorated during the last year.

He was hospitalized a few months ago after suffering a stroke. The levaya was held at his yeshiva at 9 Gevura Street in Kiryat Gat on Tuesday night, at 8:00pm, for kvura in Kiryat Gat.

The niftar was born in Morocco to Rav Shlomo and Moras Rachel. His grandfather, Rav Masud Moiyal was a well-know mekubal who was murdered over 100 years ago.

As a young man, he studied at a branch of Yeshivat Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch in Marrakech. He received semicha in Morocco and continued studying Kabbalah.

Sixty years ago, he married Rebitzen Simi, the orphaned daughter of Rabbi Nissim Buganim A”H.

A few years later he was imprisoned after he organized a group of Jews to immigrate to Palestine and immigrated a year later together with his wife and eldest daughter. Upon his immigration to Israel, the rabbi settled in Kiryat Gat.

He established a yeshiva and kollel avreichim in the city over 35 years ago called Kerem Shalom – L’Man Shemo B’Ahava after someone donated his home for this purpose. Many would visit the rav at home, seeking his advice and direction.
