PHOTOS: Israel Police Continues Crack Down Against Illegal Weapons

The Israel Police continues its crackdown on illegal weapons.

Police began a determined crackdown on March 1, 2018, continuing until today. During this time period, the following items were found and confiscated in the northern district.

  • A pipe bomb was found in an open field in Dir el-Assad.
  • A search of a home in Nazareth revealed a handgun.
  • In Hoshaiyah, two smoke grenades were found in a home.
  • An Airsport pistol was discovered in a home in Ba’aneh.
  • Two stun grenades were found in a home in Tuba.
  • Four IEDs were found in Shfaram.
  • A stun grenade in Afula.
  • A shotgun was found in Pesuta.
  • In Tzefas, a resident reported finding a AK -47 near a garbage can.
  • In Kabul a Kar Gustav automatic weapon was recovered.

Total Items located and confiscated from the northern district in 2018 until 3 Nisan.

42 rifles, 47 handguns, 38 grenades, 22 explosive devices, 2 firebombs, 197 fireworks, 5 blocks of explosives, homemade mortar, 2 mortar rounds, 7 electric explosive caps, and one RPG shell.

Police stress efforts to get hold of the criminals involved in illegal and homemade weapons. Police report 299 suspects were found since the beginning of 2018, resulting in 45 indictments.
