Independence Day Survey For The Dati Leumi Community


The weekly BaSheva newspaper, affiliated with Arutz-7, commissioned and Independence Day survey marking Israel’s 70th anniversary. The poll was conducted by the Geocartograpia Institute headed by Prof. Avi Degani and Dr. Rina Degani. The poll included 511 internet surfers 18 and older who identify the dati leumi community and are representative of that community nationwide.

3.1% not at all
3.7% a bit
13.3% moderately
36.4% a lot
43.4% a great deal

To what extent does Independence Day symbolize a religious or national holiday for you?

40.3% both national and religious equally
30.9% primarily national but a bit religious too
25.0% only national
3.5% primarily religious and also a bit national
0.2% only a religious holiday

To what extent would you support of oppose a member of your family moving abroad to live in the Diaspora?

42.5% would be very opposed
33.5% would be opposed
22.1% not opposed but will not support the move
1.4% supportive
0.6% very supportive

To what extent do you believe High Court rulings on religious matters are slanted?

66.7% very slanted regarding religious matters
13.9% not slanted and the court is not for or against religious issues
1.4% slanted in favor of religious values
18.0% do not know
