The decision to throw hareidi yeshiva students in prison rests with Bennett. It doesn’t appear that Likud is so thrilled with idea, and if Bennett breaks with Lapid, and given the option of substituting Lapid with the Hareidi parties, the movement to throw hareidim in prison will collapse. I suspect most of Bennett’s constituecy would be content to limit government support of yeshiva students to those students being veterans, which won’t affect the “fanatical” hareidim who don’t accept government money.
