Hizbullah Preparing for the ‘Day After’ the Revenge Attack

nasrallah1.gifHizbullah has been planning to avenge the car bomb attack that claimed the life of its deputy commander, Imad Mughniyeh, and Israeli intelligence officials warn that day is indeed approaching. Israel denied any involvement with the car bomb which took place in Syria, but Hizbullah nevertheless blames the Israelis.

Arab media sources are indicating that a major attack will be perpetrated in the near future, and Hizbullah has been preparing for the ‘day after’, realizing it may find itself back at war with Israel.

The London-based Al-Shark Al-Awsat newspaper quoting Dr. Abed el-Sta’ad el-Muliji, who is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, states Hizbullah is working to “unify forces” ahead of the next conflict with Israel.

According to the Lebanese al-Akhbar newspaper, quoting senior Hizbullah officials Ahmed Maryer, that “The day of revenge is near” and it “will result in an earthquake in Israel.”

He continued to threaten that “Israel is in for a big surprise. We are capable of firing thousands of missiles a day into Israel.”

Persian Gulf Arabic newspapers quote senior Hizbullah officials saying, “We must avenge the death … because silence enhances the enemy’s appetite to continue targeted hits.”

In the meantime, Lebanon has turned to the United Nations, complaining about remarks made last week by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who stated, “If Lebanon turns into a Hizbullah state, Israel will be free to attack.”

In response, Netanyahu stated nothing was promised to the former police chief.
