Police on Tuesday intervened to extricate a group of Jewish visitors on Har HaBayis after Arabs began to confront the group.

About 30 Jews visited the Mount on Tuesday afternoon, Simchas Torah, entering via Mugrabi Gate. The visit was coordinated with Israel Police.

Shortly after arriving on the Mount, about 100 Arabs began surrounding the group, shouting “Ala Akhbar” (God is Great). The policemen acted quickly and decided to remove the group to avoid violence. Police detained two Arabs believed responsible for the incident.
