Sammygol, I was not talking to you. As far as I’m concerned there is no such thing as a “Better Bourbon” I also only listed those 3 because they are easy to spell. Talisker, Lagavullin, and the other one which escapes me at this moment, are not in my closet. Glenkinche is my favorite. However now at the present time I am into the 21 year old Balvenie.

#7 Sorry for the late reply. I too have been on the Classic Malts (Glenkinche, Oban, Dalwhinnie…….) tour. I also bring all the fine single malts to my side of the table. However after we finish, and the shakronim who just want to get their buzz, need something else other than that farshtinkena bourbon, I give them the “refills”.

#7 – if a producer forges a label, can you be certain the product is really pure vodka, and that the bottles and equipment were not really used for something non-kosher

the real issue should be why is vodka not made from potatoes anymore. not even the kosher le’pesach vodka by our friends in bayonne — theirs is made from “cane sugar”!

vodka traditionally is made from potatoes (because potatoes are the cheapest thing around — cane sugar (esp in the us, which forbids its importation) is one of the most expensive things around.

nevertheless, uinflavorred vodka is schedule A, kosher without a hechsher.

to #5 ephraim: you should be ashamed of yourself — and esp before parshat noach. my shul has a grand kiddush every parshat noach,. to celebrate the invention / discovery of wine. make sure i never step into your shul!

Its no different than most shuls do after we run out of the 300 dollar a bottle Single Malt Scotch. We take the Hamashkeh and put it into the used bottles.
