On Wednesday, members of his army unit and supporters will gather at the IDF’s Bakum Induction Base calling for the release of Gilad Shalit. Mrs. Aviva Shalit, his mother, also plans to attend the rally opposite the base where Gilad was inducted into the military over three years ago.
1,100 members of the Israel Scouts are also planning to attend, most being students of Ramat Gan’s Bleich School.
A French Jewish community on Monday is also having a race to bring attention to Shalit, who is also a French citizen.
