Marzel to Sit in Um el-Fahm on Election Day

In another move that has the left-wing community concerned, Chevron resident and noted right-wing activist Baruch Marzel will act in the capacity as a poll watcher in the Israeli Arab community of Um el-Fahm on Election Day.

Opponents of Marzel fear his presence may spark racial violence while Marzel insists his presence will ensure the polling station in the Israeli Arab municipality does not engage in any inappropriate or illegal activities.

Marzel recently petitioned the High Court of Justice, seeking to hold an Israeli Flag Parade in the Israeli Arab municipality; the court supported his request and instructed police to accommodate him and his followers, to permit the march.

Marzel went back to the court after police failed to permit the march and the court had harsh words for Israel Police, daring to blatantly ignore a High Court decision, ordering the march held after the February 10th general election.
