Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has progressed towards acceptance in the eyes of the current US administration, seeking to portray himself as an Arab leader who truly yearns for peace, yet in actuality, he is a leading player in the axis of evil and plays an instrumental role in the weapons transfer from Iran to Hizbullah in southern Lebanon.
In his latest move in an interview on Hizbullah’s al-Manar television, he stated “Israel only understands the language of force”, being certain to add that his army is prepared for any eventuality. He stated that he will order his forces into a war with Israel should the situation demand such a move.
Assad stated that when it comes to “resistance”, referring to Israel, he is unable to maintain a policy of neutrality.
