I live in Emanuel.

30% of the students of the Beis Yaakov Chasidi of Emanuel are Sephardic.

Many more are of blended heritage.

As Attorney Mordechai Bass discovered when sent here by Shulamit Amichai to investigate the situation here, he found that NO ONE was refused admission to this school who applied. That is because it is a philosophical difference, not an ethnic one.

It is a DIFFERENT school with a DIFFERENT administration. It used the EMPTY rooms in the original Beis Yaakov building left over from the time these rooms were used as a high school, since the high school got its own building, leaving several rooms empty and unused.

The Sephardic parents of the Beis Yaakov Chasidi petitioned the Supreme Court to meet them during the initial discussions. This petition was REFUSED. The first time Judge Levi heard the parents speak was on Thursday, April 29. A Sephardic parent spoke about why he chose this school for his daughter. Have you not heard the transcript of the hearing?

HaRav HaGaon Rav Ba'adani was one of the founders of Beis Yaakov Chasidi. The Gedolei HaDor have thus indeed been involved in this school, whose rules do not discrimminate ethnically by any means.

Yoav Lallum opposes the top button the the girls' blouse being closed. How on earth is that rule racist?

Where does Y Lallum get his funding from? Have you wondered about that? How does he have the right to decide anything, what are his qualifications?

How can this lie continue?

#2 -

Rav Yoav Lalum is trying to even the playing field for all students of Emanuel Beit Yaakov and end the racial discrimination and segregation policies.

Just a few facts the school building is state property. Emanuel Beit Yaakov and Chinuch Atzmai school systems are partially funded by the State of Israel. They receive the same funding per student as any other school system including the Mamlachti Dati Torani school system. The extras such as longer days are funded by tuitions and private donations just like the Torani school systems.

Being that Emanuel Beit Yaakov has accepted more than a single shekel from the State of Israel and is in building that was built by the state of Israel on land donated by the state of Israel. They have an obligation to follow some basic laws. Including an end to their racial discrimination and segregation policies based on ones origins this time it is the Sephardim another time was the Americans.

If the high court is forced to rule they will shut the school down, dismiss the current Vadd and administrations. Reopen the school with a hand picked team that will follow basic rights and end the racial discrimination and segregation policies.

The other options is for a new school to purchase land just like any other commercial venture, build a school without state funds and run the school without a single shekel from the state.

Got to agree with #1, back to the High Courts they will do.
Why add more and more chumras to the Chinuch Atzmai charter? Chinuch Atzmai should close down this school and reopen a different one in the same place.
