When a passenger who witnesses described as appearing Arab shouted “slaughter the Jews” in Arabic on a Tel Aviv number 5 bus on Wednesday, he placed Tel Aviv on a terror alert status, compelling police and specialized units to begin combing the Dizengoff area where they got off of the bus, seeking to prevent a terror attack.
At one point police closed a portion of Dizengoff Street and uniformed police and special units were occupied for hours looking for an Arab couple who they feared may be on their way to carrying out an attack.
Eventually, during the evening hours, the search was halted and police remain uncertain as to the motives of the mystery “Arab-appearing” man on the bus who shouted “slaughter the Jews”.
