Israel takes a respectable third place, behind Hong Kong and India in the race for the number of new millionaires in 2009. Israel reports an increase of 42.7% (8,419) in 2009, as compared to 5,900 in 2008, while the increase worldwide was a mere 17.1%. In Hong Kong, the number increased in 2009 by 104% and in India by 50.9%.
The 14th Meryl Lynch Capgemini World Health states there are some 10 million millionaires worldwide.
