Egyptian officials are denying a report released by Iran’s Red Crescent Society that Egypt is not permitting an “aid ship” to cross the Suez Canal on its way to Gaza.
“The ship’s departure has been postponed because of more restrictions imposed by the Zionist Quds occupying regime on the movement of aid to Gaza and prevention of the ship from using the Suez Canal, despite coordination with international bodies,” the Red Crescent said in a statement faxed to AFP.
Contradicting the AFP is the Suez Canal Authority in Egypt, which has released a statement that it will permit the next flotilla to head to Gaza via its waterways.
