you can expect more of this as the birds are being constantly bred for economic gain and not for the bird’s welfare. They are rushed to market unnaturally fattened up at 6-8 weeks old, and consequently often have underdeveloped nervous and circulatory systems. Now they have bred chickens to have shorter legs, so tendon problems is no surprise. These critters are generally one or two steps away from treifa, it does’nt take much to close the gap.

…and every year there is a fraudulent claim of a shortage (which is equally NOT TRUE) which causes the kosher consumer to pay more….and every year there are those who call for holding the line on prices…and it is ALWAYS IGNORED. Overcharging (OWNAH) is ABSOLUTELY ASSUR. Yet there is no POSEK who EVER comes out against it…so they keep taking advantage.

So what’s the big news? Every year the price goes up before Pesach. The dough in the matza may not rise, but the dough you pay out rises a whole lot!
