MANY parents are completely clueless about their children’s REAL plans…Parents need to sit their children down, educate them and give them stern direction with ultimatums. Then and ONLY then will we have less to worry about when it comes to Purim safety.

I object to this attitude. It is like when victims of a crime, Rachmona litzlan, do not press charges, and therefore the criminals don’t get the message that they need to stop. Better to stipulate that if the perpetrator does teshuvah he will be mochel, but not otherwise.

Smoke bombs and firecrackers have no place on Purim. The Chinese have a mesorah of using these for celebrations, Yiddin don’t.

Any level-headed, normal adult or mature child should agree with and encourage the necessity for Purim Fun to be SAFE!
