Monsey: Car Collides With Bicyclist On Route 306 & Maple Ave


amb.jpgRamapo Police responded to Maple Ave, just east of Rt 306, in Monsey just after 5:00PM to investigate a motor vehicle accident involving a bicyclist, Wednesday afternoon. A police investigation on scene revealed that a 1998 Ford passenger van, driven by a 39 year old Monsey resident, had been traveling eastbound on Maple Ave attempting to make a right turn into the parking lot of a school building when a collision occurred with the bicyclist, the bicyclist was also traveling eastbound.

The bicyclist, a 17 year old male Monsey resident, was wearing his helmet but did suffer facial lacerations. The bicyclist was tended to on scene by Hatzoloh Ambulance and was transported to Westchester Medical Center for further for further medical evaluation along with a parent.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained on scene.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Ramapo Police Dept. Accident Investigation Unit. At this time no traffic summonses were issued.
