New Coney Island Development Sets Aside Homes For Those Displaced By Sandy

New Yorkers displaced by Hurricane Sandy are getting a shot at apartments in a new affordable housing development in Brooklyn. City housing officials say the Coney Island Commons will reserve 39 of its 195 units for qualified applicants who meet income requirements and can provide documentation of their displacement due to the storm.

Half of the new units will be set aside by lottery for eligible residents of the neighborhood.

Applications for the lottery can be downloaded at www.coneyislandcommons.com.

For listings of city-subsidized housing in the five boroughs, visit the Apartment Seekers and Homebuyers pages at www.nyc.gov.
