Annual Hatzoloh vs. NYPD Baseball Game – Game Still On!

Update 12:32 pm Tuesday July 2: The HomeRunHeroes baseball game scheduled for tonight, Tuesday, at 6pm at MCU Park in Coney Island will be held as scheduled. Tickets can still be purchased at the various ticket outlets in Flatbush & Queens as well as at the ballpark. Come early to enjoy all the fun!

The annual “rivalry” between Hatzoloh & the New York City Police Dept will be renewed again this Tuesday night, July 2 at 6pm, at MCU Park on Coney Island, the home of the Brooklyn Cyclones. The baseball game, featuring the best our city has to offer, is now in its 6th year.

Over the years, the game has become a “must see” event for wholesome family fun. The volunteers of Flatbush Hatzoloh, who are normally seen hurrying to a call, and the members of the NYPD who are normally seen responding to an emergency, instead play a relaxed and entertaining baseball game to benefit two important causes. The Chevra Gemach was established several years ago to help support Hatzoloh volunteers in need. It is a chesed organization in the fullest sense, and is available year round for Hatzoloh members who need help. Hatzoloh is on call 24/7/365 and the Chevra Gemach is there for them. On the NYPD side, the Lieutenants Benevolent Association helps the families of officers who have given their lives to protect all New Yorkers.

The fun starts even before the first pitch, as the mobile unit of the Brooklyn Nets is expected to be parked outside the stadium. There will be basketball hoops, Nets merchandise, games and giveaways – fun for the whole family! During the game, passes to the World-Famous Luna Park in Coney Island will be raffled off. Tickets to this raffle will be available upon entrance to the stadium. There are 100 passes to raffle off, so the chances of winning are pretty high. There will also be a Chinese auction, with packages for women & babies as well as a special “mystery” package. Cantor Ushi Blumenberg and the Yedidim Choir will provide entertainment, and Glatt Kosher ballpark fare will be available for purchase.
