The great summer exodus to the country and camp is about to begin. Are you ready? The Buzz is having a special 2-week sale on everything from air-conditioners, fans, flashlights, batteries, laundry bags, irons, Shabbos urns and hot plates, toaster ovens and even dinnerware that you can use for your home-away – from-home in the mountains. Stuff you need. On sale!

Aside from the basic summer needs, our intrepid reporter, Ben Froehlich, scored an exclusive interview with The Buzz staff to learn about some innovative products to save you time and money. Products that you may not even be aware of!

Ben: Thanks for your time today. Can you provide a synopsis of 5 innovative products you’d recommend for those going upstate – understanding that the homes and bungalows are considerable smaller?

The Buzz: Many have a Shabbos hot plate which is perfect for keeping food nice and warm. However, they can be a bit large and bulky when storing – an issue when space is at a premium in the mountains. There is a solution – and it’s called the Hot Mat Hotplate. Easily portable, this hotplate has 4 Teflon- coated aluminum surfaces for different foods – and the best part is that when storing it easily folds up, making this easy to use and to store!

Ben: That is amazing! Seems like a great gift for my in-laws which is where I head out many weekends during the summer. With a gift like this, I know they won’t mind if I keep coming back. What other innovations can you like to share with our readers?

The Buzz: A recently introduced item is the Shabulb. While the Kosher Lamp is great, with the Shabulb, you can turn any existing lamp into something they can use on Shabbos. Sounds crazy – right? All you do is twist in the special Shabulb lightbulb into any lamp and turn it on before Shabbos. Then you can slide the little lever in the bulb for either more or less light.

Ben: Wow! I could just see the lightbulb over the head of the person who thought of that bright idea. Is there anything new in the world of housewares for this summer?

The Buzz: There is! A Sunday barbecue or summer Shalosh Seudas is a great hosting occasion. on your porch or in a park. But sometimes the condiments can get a bit warm and the various species of bugs that seem to love the mountains as much as we do sometimes get stuck in the various dips and spreads (Yuck!). The Four Section Hinged Lid on Ice Server tray alleviates these issues. Place ice on the bottom of this tray and then scoop in the chummus spread, guacamole, tomato dip or anything else into one of the four compartments on top of the ice. Your spreads will stay nice and cold, while the closeable lid will keep bugs out.

Ben: Very cool. Literally! Anything for a summer road trip?

The Buzz: How about our working fridge for the car? Our mini fridges have the capacity to fit 12 soda cans and they are small enough to take in the car or van during day trips. The fridge is compatible with any 12V car cord and AC adapter, ensuring that your drinks are nice and cold when you arrive.

Ben: This is turning out to be the best interview of my life! Hey Mom look at me now! Ahem. Anything else you’d like to tell our audience?

The Buzz: Yes. We all need to relax this summer. And what better way to relax than music you can listen to in the pool, while bike riding and just about anywhere? Our Activ Speaker from Trakk is waterproof, Bluetooth compatible, can play continuously for 30 hours, and charges your phone! The speaker even comes with a bike mount!

Ben: Now I have no excuse not to train for that 180 mile bikeathon.

The Buzz: And for a limited time, this is all on sale at The Buzz Coney Flatbush and Boro Park locations, as well as at thebuzzexperience.com. Great products. Great gifts. Great prices. And we ship anywhere.
