rabbi danny grier is responsible for many acts of kiddush hashem. he was the first student at princeton to insist on wearing his yarmulkah throughout his tenure there. his daughter was the yale five (who later became the yale four when she advanced her legal wedding date). these are just examples.

agudists will note that rabbi avigdor's brother is the general counsel (check exact title) for the agudah in america (and lives in flatbush -- attends rabbi beck's shul). and his father makes a good batch of wine. had some on pesach a few years ago.

Taken from the shuls website...
Rabbi David Avigdor, celebrating his 26th year as spiritual leader of Congregation Bikur Cholim Sheveth Achim, is rabbi, chazzan, and also a mohel, a schochet and a boy's choir founder/director. He follows in the illustrious rabbinic footsteps of his grandfather, Rabbi Yacov Avigdor, the famed Drohobyczer Rav, and of his father, Rabbi Yitzchok Chaim Avigdor of Hartford.

In the broader community, Rabbi Avigdor works extensively on behalf of Jewish Rights, often in tandem with Agudath Israel of America. He holds the Agudath Israel Avodas Hakodesh Community Service Award and has been Yeshiva Torah Vodaath's Professional Alumnus of the Year.
