During his Tuesday morning 25 Nissan court hearing, the defense attorney told Justice Oded Mudrick of the Tel Aviv District Court that his client, Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto, wishes to bring Nobel Prize laureate Elie Wiesel as a character witness.

Attorney Rozovsky, who represents Pinto, conveyed the request to the court. Rabbi Pinto is requesting a video conference explaining Wiesel cannot travel to Israel because of his age. Wiesel is 87 and has stated in the past his doctors do not permit him to travel internationally any longer.
