With Much of Israel Left in Ashes, ZAKA Needs Your Help to Rebuild

zakapic
Terrifying wildfires flamed through Israel this week, as a result of presumed terrorist arson attacks. Over 80,000 were evacuated, 180 were injured, and 560 homes were burnt as flames ripped through cities & towns.

Hundreds of children have no homes to return to.

As always, ZAKA volunteers have been working tirelessly to save lives, and aid other emergency responders. These brave volunteers are often the first to arrive at the scene of attacks, as well as the last to leave after properly handling human remains with kavod. This is obviously a tremendous mitzvah.

Tonight, while other Jews will be safe & warm in their homes, ZAKA volunteers will continue to lose sleep to make sure that these families can return to what is left of their homes, and those who have begun to assess the damage have the help they need. You can be with them in spirit by showing your support.

Please remember, this is a volunteer organization, these members of klal yisroel are choosing to put their lives in danger, but they need our help to get the resources they need.

The urgency cannot be overstated. Much of Eretz Yisroel is left in ashes. Please give what you can.

  1. Am I a just plain stupid or is this typical money making during crisis scandal?
Why does Zakaria need money now for the fires? They say clearly in the video that they have volunteers holding hoses. There is no need to give Zaka donations to help fight the fires. There are 100’some of families that are left with nothing. Let’s open our hearts and brains and donate to the people who need it most right now. Not to people trying to gain during a crisis.
Don’t get me wrong. I have the greatest respect and admiration for Zaka, but I really don’t get why any money is needed at this time other than to help the families who were really affected by this crisis.

  2. 560 homes does not constitute “much of Israel.” And since it appears to have been due to terrorism, the Israeli government’s policy is to provide compensation.
