VIDEO & PHOTOS: Car Jumps Curb, Strikes Flatbush Home

(Sunday, June 6th, 2010)

An out of control car, jumped a curb, crashed through an iron fence, and struck a home in the heart of Flatbush Sunday morning.

There was no word on what caused the one-car accident, but witnesses tell YWN that it was nothing short of an open miracle.

The vehicle apparently lost control at approximately 11:45AM, on Bedford Avenue and Avenue M, and struck the corner home. The two occupants of the vehicle, both elderly females, were transported by Flatbush Hatzolah to local hospitals with minor injuries. Miraculously, no pedestrians or other vehicles were struck in this very busy Flatbush intersection.

Think of the carnage that would have occured if the accident had been a few blocks to the West between Coney Island Ave and Ocean Ave.

“There was no word on what caused the one-car accident, but witnesses tell YWN that it was nothing short of an open miracle.” What caused the accident was a miracle?!? HUH?!?

Let’s reserve “miracle” for when a miracle occurs. Was it unlikely that no one would be hurt? Yes. Hoshgocho Peratis? Yes! But not a miracle.

While they could have worded it better, they obviously mean that the result of the accident was nothing short of a miracle, not that the accident happened at all.

Why is it not a miracle?

Even grass growing is a miracle that we do not notice as one because we see the green grass so often (every day for many).

I think they just wanted a great parking spot…
