District Court Rejects Plea Bargain Agreement With Former Chief Rabbi Metzger - Court Hands Down A Stricter Sentence
Jerusalem District Court Judge Moshe HaKohen has rejected the plea bargain agreement reached in the case of former Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger, handing down a stricter sentence.
Justice HaKohen added an additional year of prison to the sentence, from 3.5 to 4.5 years.

Jerusalem police have arrested three men who were arraigned on Thursday 27 Shevat on suspicion of attacking two Arab males as they walked in the parking lot of the Malcha Mall shopping center. Police requested extending their remand.

IDF soldiers during the night of 27 Shevat (Wednesday to Thursday) continued counter-terrorism efforts throughout Yehuda and Shomron. A total of 13 suspects were taken into custody.
Four arrests were made in the PA (Palestinian Authority) village of Abud in the Binyamin Regional Council; as well as four in Abu Dis (Etzion) and four in Kabatya (Menashe District). There is no information on the 13th suspect.

Police Apprehend A Man Walking Around With A Large Knife In Bnei Brak
Police on Wednesday 26 Shevat arrested a 51-year-old male who was threatening passers-by with a large knife in Bnei Brak. He got onto a bus and began shouting “Ala Akbar” and “Itbach el Yahud” (slaughter the Jew) and brandished the knife which he waved randomly.
Police arrived and ordered the man off the bus. Police report the man is Jewish and the incident is not viewed as a nationalist incident.

The Knesset Ombudsman Committee headed by MK Yisrael Eichler held a discussion on the regulation compelling one whose drivers license is suspended to pass a theory and practical exam.
