New York State Troopers in Middletown arrested a Newburgh, NY woman on Tuesday for driving the wrong way on I-84 in the Town of Wallkill. Troopers received a 911 call at 10:45pm, describing a 2013 Gray Ford Focus traveling east in the westbound lanes. The Appellate Division of State Supreme Court denied a motion from the Town of Woodbury to enjoin the Village of Kiryas Joel from continuing construction on its water pipeline. They wanted the project to stop pending a hearing and determination of an appeal of a court judgment issued by Orange County Supreme Court in April. On June 22, 2014 State Police at Liberty responded to a residence in Grahamsville, NY for a report of a man with a gun. Mamakating: Town Board Approves Mikvah That Would Serve New Chasidic Community
The Mamakating Planning Board Tuesday night approved the mikvah on 51 Winterton Road that would serve Shalom Lamm's 396-home Chasidic community and others in Bloomingburg. The work on the mikvah had been halted in January when the Mamakating issued a stop-work order because construction was being done without necessary permits.
