Nevele Hotel Submits Formal Casino Application To The State
Nevele officials celebrated the sendoff of their nearly 12,000 page gaming license application Tuesday afternoon in Ellenville. The celebration which included a band and barbeque brought out some 150 supporters. Part of the application process is being able to demonstrate community support for the project. Sullivan County: Boil Water Alert Issued For Thompson Water System
The State Health Department has issued a boil water order for the Cold Spring Road area of the Town of Thompson Water system. All water for drinking and culinary purposes must be brought to a rolling boil before consuming because coliform bacteria was found in three consecutive samplings on June 16, 18 and 20. Five people were taken to Albany Medical Center Sunday afternoon after a spectacular crash in Hillsdale. The accident, on Rt. 23, near Bushnell Road happened around 3:30. Former Thompson Supervisor Kaufman Dies; Levaya Held At Monticello Shul
Former Thompson Town Supervisor David Kaufman, who died on Friday, June 13, was laid to rest on Sunday. He was 85. Kaufman, who began his political career as a trustee in the Village of Monticello, later became its mayor and town supervisor. He also served as chairman of the Sullivan County Board of Supervisors.
