Federal prosecutors say a New York slaughterhouse that supplies kosher chicken to Orthodox Jews discharged chicken parts and other waste into storm drains and sewers. The U.S. attorney's office announced a civil lawsuit and proposed settlement Thursday. It said the Kiryas Joel Poultry Processing Plant Inc. admitted violating the federal Clean Water Act between 2008 and 2012.
