Drivers who use the Jackie Robinson Parkway overnight will have to find another route over the next few weeks. Starting Monday, June 1, the eastbound side of the parkway will be shut down from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. so it can be repaved. Weekend closures have also been scheduled for the weekends of June 5 and June 12. Several pilots say a green laser was pointed at their planes while they were flying over Long Island. The Federal Aviation Administration says it happened to four planes Thursday between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., about four miles northwest of Farmingdale.
