Ramapo Police Looking For Perp Wanted In Robbery
On June 11th, 2014, at approximately 10:55PM the Ramapo Police Department responded to the area of Hickory Road in the Hillcrest area for the report of a robbery. Upon arrival of responding officers, it was determined that an unknown suspect attempted to rob the victim of a cell phone. The suspect threatened force, removed the cell phone from the victim, and a brief struggle ensued. The suspect fled on foot. There were no reported injuries as a result of the incident.

NYS Troopers Prevent Potential Suicide From The Tappan Zee Bridge
On June 11, just before 2 p.m., State Troopers from the Tarrytown Station responded to a report of a disabled vehicle located on the Rockland County side of the Tappan Zee Bridge.
State Police quickly arrived at the scene and observed a 35-year-old man standing outside of a vehicle near the rail.

A 20-year-old New Jersey man died Tuesday after apparently drowning in a popular lake in Harriman State Park in New York, according to a report from The Journal News.
A state park police spokesman told the newspaper emergency responders were called to Pine Meadow Lake shortly after 6 p.m. The victim was swimming with two friends, according to the report, who said he was trying to swim the entire distance of the lake when he went under.

Gov. Cuomo To Appoint Fiscal Monitor For East Ramapo School District
State Sen. David Carlucci (D-38th District) has confirmed that the East Ramapo School District will soon have a fiscal monitor.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo will be appointing a fiscal monitor for the district, which has been plagued with budget problems for years.
East Ramapo Superintendent Dr. Joel Klein says he knew nothing about the decision to install a fiscal monitor in the district. He told News 12 Hudson Valley that he is waiting to hear more before commenting on camera.

Preliminary Work Continues On New TZ Bridge
The Tappan Zee Bridge project has reached a new phase. Two hundred of the approximately 1,000 piles that will serve as the foundation of the two main spans of the bridge are in place.
