Close to one thousand people avid fans gathered last week at Moshav Tzora near Bet Shemesh for the Yeshiva Boys Choir first-ever concert in Israel. MEDEVAC: Overturned Vehicle On Route 17
2:40PM EST: Catskills Hatzolah are on the scene of a serious MVA involving an overturned vehicle on Route 17 (westbound) near Exit 116. A medevac has just landed at the Quickway Diner - just off Exit 116 for one patient with serious injuries. Both occupants needed to be extricated by emergency services personnel. Second Set Of Bones Recovered In Sullivan County
Police don’t believe skeletal remains discovered in a rugged, wooded area off Katrina Falls Road in Rock Hill on Sunday are related to skeletal remains found weeks ago five miles away off Patio Road in Town of Thompson woods. Sullivan County Sheriff’s Patrol Division Chief Art Hawker said the latest remains were discovered by hikers around 3 p.m. Sunday. Oil Tops $80 a Barrel for First Time Since May
Crude oil surged above $81 a barrel for the first time since May as a rally in global equity markets increased speculation the economy is strengthening. Oil jumped as much as 3.6 percent after equities climbed on better-than-expected earnings and the Institute for Supply Management’s U.S. manufacturing gauge fell less than forecast. Fatbush Shomrim Makes Robbery Arrest
Earlier this week, Flatbush Shomrim received a frantic call of a lady being robbed at the corner of Avenue J & East 7th street. Responding members alerted 911 while following the perpetrator taking off with the 50 year old womans pocket book. The perpetrator was arrested just blocks away from the scene. PARKSVILLE – The State Department of Transportation in Binghamton is investigating the cause of a collapse of steel girders on the new I-86 highway that is being built in Parksville to replace the current New York Route 17. The seasonal supermarket in White Lake has gotten a facelift, thanks to a cooperative effort among the United Talmudical Academy, owner of the supermarket, the Town of Bethel and Sullivan Renaissance. Man Killed When ATV Plummets Down 50 Foot Embankment
Tusten - A 26-year-old man was killed this past weekend when an ATV he was operating plummeted 50 feet down an embankment. His wife was seriously injured as well. David Curreri, 26, was operating the vehicle along railroad tracks at Ackerman and Arrowhead roads in Tusten with his wife, Jodi Curreri, 23, as a passenger. Stocks Rise Ahead of Earnings 7/19
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained more than 50 points, or 0.6 percent, led by Intel, Boeing and Alcoa, after losing 1 percent last week. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq also rose, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq the best performer of the three. The CBOE volatility index, widely considered the best gauge of fear in the market, was below 26 at the closing bell. TRAFFIC ALERT: Truck Hits Overpass On FDR Drive
5:43PM EST: There is a large back-up in the northbound lanes of the FDR Drive Monday night due to a truck that hit an overpass around 63rd street.
