A U.S. Army Apache attack helicopter crashed near the Strait of Hormuz on Monday under circumstances that remain under investigation.
According to reports, both pilots were rescued safely after the crash. A U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) spokesperson told Reuters that a U.S. Navy surface drone located and rescued the two crew members.
The soldiers were recovered within approximately two hours and are reported to be in stable condition. Officials have not yet disclosed what caused the helicopter to go down, and an investigation is ongoing.
