MISTAKEN ALARM: A protest broke out Tuesday morning near Jerusalem’s Ramat Shlomo neighborhood after Chareidim mistakenly believed police were arresting a Yeshiva Bochur for draft-related reasons.
The incident began when a police officer stopped a Chareidi driver to issue a traffic ticket. Bystanders incorrectly assumed it was a draft arrest and activated the “The Kidnappers Have Arrived” alert system, drawing protesters to the scene and temporarily blocking roads.
It was later confirmed that no arrest had taken place and the driver had only been issued a traffic citation. The protest ended after the misunderstanding was clarified.
