Hikind Applauds Trump Administration For Deporting Nazi Palij Who Was Living in Queens

New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) praised President Donald Trump and his administration for deporting Jakiw Palij, the Nazi War Criminal who resided comfortably in Queens, New York for years despite Hikind’s protests. This last year, Hikind called on President Trump and U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions to take Palij into custody as an illegal alien deport him. Hikind organized nearly 100 of his colleagues in the NYS Assembly and Senate to lend their voices to the plea to remove Palij. Hikind’s requests followed more than a decade of efforts to expose and deport Palij. During World War II, Palij worked at the notorious Treblinka death camp, where thousands of innocent men, women and children were murdered and thrown into pits. He was also an armed guard at the nearby Trawniki training camp, where Nazi troops were trained to carry out the extermination of Polish Jews. Palij entered the U.S. claiming that he was a farmer and war refugee, concealing his work as a Nazi guard, and was granted citizenship in 1957. After the revelations about his past became known, he was subsequently stripped of his U.S. citizenship, which was obtained illegally and under false pretenses. His deportation order was upheld by the courts in 2004 but until today, Palij remained a resident of Queens. “Never give up! That is a vital message in this story of long-overdue justice,” said Hikind. “I have remained with this issue for 14 years because Palij’s presence here mocked the memory of the millions who perished. There was no question of his guilt. It was imperative that someone responsible for Nazi atrocities be held accountable for his crimes. While his victims can no longer seek justice, I am delighted that President Trump and his administration took it upon themselves to deliver justice.” Earlier this year, Hikind recently released an emotional video about Palij, encouraging U.S. citizens to call the White House and demand justice. Hikind also praised Eli Rosenbaum, Director of HRSP (Human Rights and Special Prosecutions) of the Department of Justice; Rambam Mesivta led by Rabbi Zev Meir Friedman for their constant efforts to bring attention of Palij’s crimes; and his numerous colleagues in the New York State Assembly and Senate. Son Of Rabbi Edgar Gluck Says He Was Beaten By Police In Poland; Hikind Calls On State Dept To Investigate

New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) is asking the U.S. State Department to look into the arrest and assault on a Brooklyn resident by policemen in Krakow, Poland. Yaakov Gluck was arrested and beaten in the courtyard of a synagogue in front of witnesses, then taken to the police station where a uniformed officer Sieg Heiled him. “Regardless of what Mr. Gluck has been charged with, a policeman in Poland giving him a Hail Hitler salute is beyond outrageous!” said Hikind. “This action alone must be looked into and should certainly say something about the nature of these charges and how this man was beaten.” Yaakov Gluck, age 40, the son of Rabbi Edgar Gluck, a respected rabbi from Brooklyn who is also recognized as the Chief Rabbi of Galicia, is a frequent traveler to Krakow. “There’s a tiny Jewish population that still exists here,” said Gluck, “but Israelis visit and I often bring them around. That’s what happened yesterday – I was showing a visiting couple the Kupa Synagogue when I was arrested.” Gluck said he visits the Kupa Synagogue frequently but on this occasion, the caretaker summoned the police. “We were in the synagogue’s courtyard when the police arrived and I was thrown down on the concrete, cuffed, and beaten,” said Gluck. Gluck was then taken into custody and detained for 8 hours. While in custody, he said a uniformed policeman taunted him with the Sieg Heil salute. Although there were witnesses and security camera footage, which Gluck says will exonerate him, Gluck was charged with assaulting a police officer. “In addition to calling on the State Department to look into this, I will certainly stay on top of this issue and continue to report back on it,” said Hikind. WATCH: Dov Hikind Gets Standing Ovation On Last Day In Office

NY State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) was the recipient of a warm standing ovation from his colleagues as Majority Leader Joseph D. Morelle recognized Hikind for his 36 years in the legislature. It was a bittersweet moment for Hikind and his family who were on hand as the popular Assemblyman said goodbye to Albany… but not to public service. “In many ways, I’m just getting started,” said Hikind. “Long before I became an elected official, I was serving my community as an activist. Now, there’s even more that I can offer. “I want to thank my community and thank G-d for giving me these amazing 36 years of being able to help people—help my community and help individuals. But anyone who thinks that I am ‘retiring’ doesn’t know me. I will never cease speaking out on issues that are important to us, and I will never stop working to make a difference in people’s lives. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished and equally excited about the days to come, because there’s so much more that still needs to be done.” A heart-warming video of Dov Hikind’s last day can be seen below:

Hikind Applauds MTA For Immediate Response To Swastika

NYS Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) says the “See Something, Say Something” policy is working for New Yorkers—at least in his district. Contacted on Monday by a constituent whose family was offended by a swastika etched into a subway seat, Hikind wasted no time in contacting the MTA, which he said immediately responded. “Andrew Inglesby, Assistant Director of Government and Community Relations for the MTA, called my office as soon as he heard from us,” said Hikind. “He was as outraged as we were and promised to take immediate action. That’s good service.” Hikind said his constituent, whose first name is Hillel, complained that he was riding in car #2706 on the D train with his wife and small children where they saw the offensive hate symbol on the seat. Hillel photographed the swastika and emailed it to Hikind with the train information. “It was hurtful to this family,” said Hikind. “There’s no two ways of viewing a swastika. It only means one thing. New Yorkers don’t want symbols of hate ruining our public transportation. I’m pleased that Hillel contacted us. Staying silent never helps anyone.” Hikind thanked Inglesby and the MTA. (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Hikind Calls On Senator Kavanagh To Cancel Sarsour Tribute

NY State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) called on NY State Senator Brian Kavanagh to cancel a tribute to terrorist supporter Linda Sarsour, which is planned as part of the Hester Street Benefit tomorrow, June 13. “It’s shocking that Progressive Liberals are willing to give Linda Sarsour a pass on her vile rhetoric, her support of terrorists, and her connection to America’s leading racist Louis Farrakhan,” said Hikind. “What kind of message are Democrats giving when they turn a blind eye to these facts? Honoring someone as divisive and despicable as Linda Sarsour is the very opposite of what New York City—and all of the United States—stand for.” Hikind asked New Yorkers to contact Senator Kavanaugh’s office at 212-298-5565 to lodge their protest. In 2015, Sarsour participated in Farrakhan’s #JusticeOrElse rally where the raucous message she delivered echoed Farrakhan’s own anti-Semitic efforts to blame Jews for problems and hardships experienced by blacks in the US. “The same people who justify the massacres of Palestinian people and call it collateral damage are the same people who justify the murder of young black men and women,” Sarsour told the audience. In yet another echo of Farrakhan’s hate rhetoric, Sarsour assured her “sisters and brothers” that the “common enemy…is white supremacy;” insisting that “the liberation of the Palestinian people is bound up with the liberation of black people in America.” That day, Sarsour shared the stage with anti-white racist Jeremiah Wright who used his address at the Farrakhan rally to denounce Israel as an apartheid state and to assert that “Jesus was a Palestinian.” When Wright was in the spotlight as Obama’s longtime pastor before the 2008 elections, Obama repudiated him, describing his views on America and the US-Israeli relationship “as fundamentally distorted.” Obama also rejected Farrakhan’s endorsement and emphasized his “denunciation of Minister Farrakhan’s anti-Semitic comments.” ————————- Linda Sarsour in her own words: April 2, 2017 – Praised convicted PFLP (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine) terrorist Rasmea Odeh when the two addressed a conference in Chicago on April 2, 2017. Sarsour told the audience she was “honored and privileged to be here in this space, and honored to be on this stage with Rasmea.” March, 2017 – Told The Nation that you cannot be a Zionist and a Feminist. “Is there room for people who support the state of Israel and do not criticize it in the movement? There can’t be in feminism.” October 2016 – Praised the Intifada, a movement that encourages random stabbings and rock throwing at Israeli civilians. She tweeted “Intifada has brought us some of the most important coverage and Palestine related news. They are invaluable on many fronts.” October 11, 2015 – Glorified and encouraged Arab stone throwers who target Israelis by calling them “The definition of courage” and tweeting a photo of a three-year-old with rocks. August 18, 2015 – Tweeted “Free #Muhammadallan” in support of the jailed Islamic Jihad terrorist who was involved in the recruitment of suicide bombers. March 8, 2011 – Attacked a Somali-born activist and critic of radical Islam, writing on Twitter that Hirsi Ali deserved to be physically assaulted for her views. “Brigitte Gabriel = Ayaan Hirsi Ali. She’s asking 4 an a$$ whippin’. I wish I could take their vaginas away – they don’t deserve to be women.” 2003

Hikind Blasts NYC’s Efforts To ‘Desegregate’ Elite Schools By Punishing Top Students

NYS Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) says dumping admissions standards for elite high schools is not the answer to segregation. Responding to Mayor de Blasio’s announced plan to increase Black and Latino enrollment at the city’s top eight specialized high schools, Hikind explained that eliminating admissions tests and lowering enrollment standards is a crime against all students. “What’s being proposed is grossly unfair,” said Hikind. “Even referring to the current admission process as ‘segregation’ is offensive to the current student body. These students have nothing to be ashamed of for working hard! “What we have now is a system that treats everyone the same. Students are selected for these elite schools based on theirs merits, not their skin color or cultural background. I agree that every effort should be made to offer all students the same preparatory lessons and tests, but eliminating standards at these schools is not the answer. That’s just reverse discrimination. “It’s Asian-American students, who currently predominate at the city’s top schools, who will suffer the most from this. That’s unfair. Asian Americans are hard working people who struggle as much as any other group in our city. “Victimizing those who work hard is not the answer. Damaging top schools is not the answer. But if the ultimate goal is to get rid of ‘elite’ schools, then let’s just get it over with and offer open enrollment. “And while we’re at it, should we also scrap all standardized testing? The SATs? The Regents exams? Ask yourself this: Do you really want a doctor who went to an open-enrollment medical school operating on you?” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Democrat Dov Hikind Blasts His Own Party For Treatment Of Israel

NYS Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) says that Democrats like Senators Bernie Sanders and Dianne Feinstein, who denounce the State of Israel for defending itself, are encouraging more violence. Never one to stand silent when Jews are under attack, Hikind is blasting his own party for what he calls “a disgusting blood libel against the Jewish people.” “They are handing a victory to Hamas,” Hikind said of Democrats who have shamefully criticized Israel for defending its borders. “Where is the conscience of the Democratic Party? We know for a fact that over 50 of the 60 Palestinians who were killed at the Gaza-Israeli border were members of Hamas—an organization that the United States recognizes as terrorists. These were not student protestors. These were not people looking to cross over from Mexico to find a better life in the United States. These were terrorists who have sworn to murder Israeli citizens when they reach Israel. But media outlets like MSNBC and CNN, along with Democrats who are playing politics, have twisted the story. Is there zero regard for the truth?” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Hikind: Palisades Parkway Police Dismiss Bogus Tickets, Discipline Officer

NY State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) praised the chief of the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Department following findings that exonerated a Boro Park resident and caused a highway patrolman to be disciplined. Three months ago, Hikind asked Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo to review a case after Hikind received a complaint of a highly irregular ticketing situation. “Countless New Yorkers commute back and forth from New York to New Jersey, and more than once I have heard of bogus tickets being issued on the Palisades Parkway,” said Assemblyman Hikind. “One particular injustice occurred when my constituent was issued tickets that he should not have received and was forced to accept a guilty verdict to save time and money.” The Brooklyn resident was driving his brother’s large passenger vehicle when he was pulled over by a Palisades Interstate patrolman for driving a commercial vehicle on the Palisades. The driver presented his brother’s vehicle registration which made it clear that the vehicle was not a commercial vehicle at all. Nevertheless, a ticket was issued for the offense, along with three other tickets. These tickets were not issued to the driver: They were issued to his brother, who was not present. When the vehicle’s owner took off from work to appear in court and enter a not guilty plea, he was told by the prosecutor that the patrolman who had written the tickets had not shown up and that he would have to appear a second time (and thus lose a second day’s pay). Consequently, he was compelled to plead guilty. “It seemed clear that this was just a matter of extorting a cornered motorist into paying a fine for a crime he was not guilty of,” Hikind said at the time. The Assemblyman called for an investigation. Following the close of the investigation, Hikind received a letter from Michael Coppola, Chief of Police, Palisades Interstate Parkway Police, noting that one of the four issued tickets was indeed valid but apologizing for the inappropriate actions of his officer. Hikind Voted Yes – Child Victims Act Passes NY Assembly; Senate Prospects Dim

Legislation to make it easier for abuse victims to seek criminal charges or file lawsuits against their abusers has once again passed the New York state Assembly. The measure known as the Child Victims Act was endorsed by the Democrat-led Assembly on Tuesday. Prospects in the Republican-controlled state Senate, however, remain dim. Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) voted in favor of the bill. Current law gives victims until age 23 to file civil cases or seek criminal charges. Under the act, victims could file civil suits until age 50 and seek criminal charges until age 28. The bill would also create a one-year window allowing victims to file civil lawsuits for alleged abuse now barred by the existing statute of limitations. The last provision is opposed by institutions including the Catholic Church, who say it could cause catastrophic financial harm. (AP)

Hikind: Anti-semitism Alive And ‘Unwell’ In Poland

NYS Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) says anti-Semitism is alive and “unwell” in Poland. The Assemblyman pointed to Polish nationalists pressuring the country’s prime minister and Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intervene after Facebook removed numerous pages brimming with anti-Semitic content. Facebook had noted late last week in a statement on community standards that it “prohibits on its platform” the presence of organizations violating its regulations. The statement included reference to the National Radical Camp, or ONR; and the National Rebirth of Poland, or NOP. “We believe that these organizations openly promote racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic views,” Facebook stated. Hikind noted that his vocal objections to Poland’s recent law, which made referring to Polish death camps punishable by imprisonment, brought a torrent of anti-Semitic phone calls to his office, as well as hate e-mail and attacks on social media. “‘Go to Hell Jew Pig!’ That was one of the nicer messages we received,” Hikind said. “My proper objection to the new Polish law brought the anti-Semites in Poland out of the woodwork. Calls and email and Tweets from Poland have been endless. “It’s not even fair to call this ‘news’ because nothing has changed in Poland,” Hikind continued. “Nothing, that is, except the thinly-veiled rewriting of history that the current Polish government tried to pull off with its Pass-the-Blame Law. The hateful, racist, anti-Semitic messages we’ve received make it very clear that those who murdered innocent Jews in Poland during the Holocaust have a new generation of admirers. If they could get jobs at concentration camps, they’d line up.” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Statement Of Agudath Israel Of America On The Retirement Of Assemblyman Dov Hikind

Agudath Israel of America salutes Assemblyman Dov Hikind who announced his impending retirement from the New York State Assembly after a long distinguished career of service to the community. We have been proud to work with him on many important legislative accomplishments over the years. Statement by Councilman Kalman Yeger On Assemblyman Dov Hikind’s Retirement

The following is a statement from New York City Councilman Kalman Yeger (D-Brooklyn) after New York State Senator Dov Hikind announced he will not seek re-election after 36 years in office: “I have known Dov Hikind for nearly my entire life. His public service is legendary. He has always been at the forefront in defending the Jewish people, never afraid to stand alone when necessary, to say what must be said. “If I had to point to a single period in my youth that propelled me to wanting to serve the public, it was the government failure during the 1991 Crown Heights Pogrom and how Dov addressed that failure. Without question, Dov is singlehandedly responsible for shining a bright light on government acquiescence to a 3-day long attack on the Jewish people. When far too many were embarrassingly silent, Dov stood tall in defense of our community. “Two years ago this month, I stood with Dov and watched as he confronted a presidential candidate for vile comments made about Israel. This was emblematic of Dov – his passionate defense of our people, never being afraid to speak up. “In his time as an assemblyman and member of the Democratic State Committee, he elevated our community’s place at the table. As it has long been said, ‘If you’re not at the table, you’re probably on the menu.’ Dov always fought to keep us at the table and off the menu. “While we may not have always agreed, I like to believe that we agreed far more than we didn’t. I honor his service to our community and the State of New York, and I wish him joy and success in everything he does.” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

VIDEO: NYS Assemblyman Dov Hikind Announces He Will Not Seek Re-Election After 36 Years In Office

New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) announced this morning that he will not be seeking another term of office. The announcement was part of a short video that looks back on Hikind’s unparalleled four decades of community service and ceaseless activism, including his 36 years in the New York State Assembly. Born June 30, 1950, Hikind grew up in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where his father was a devout follower of the Vizhnitz Hasidic dynasty. As a follower of the late Rabbi Meir Kahane, Hikind spent the late 1960s and 1970s actively fighting against anti-Semitism, working to free Soviet Jews and Syrian Jews, and fighting to help Jewish poor. These early years of intense activism were mirrored throughout his storied career as an elected official. Hikind never limited his ‘job’ to local issues and the typical role of a legislator. He felt responsible for helping every Jew, no matter where they could be found. Hikind was first elected to represent Brooklyn’s 48th Assembly District in 1983 and has remained a popular champion for his constituents. He is highly regarded not only in New York but also throughout the world for his relentless fight against racism, discrimination, Holocaust denial, and human rights violations. “Whether it’s in Brooklyn, Albany, Monsey, Lakewood, Europe or even Gush Katif in Israel, Dov Hikind is always found fighting on the front lines, raising his voice whenever there is injustice, or leading the charge when change is needed,” noted Hikind’s biographer. For decades, Hikind’s office has been a reflection of Dov’s deep commitment to helping others and his own limitless energy. People throughout his district—and indeed, throughout New York—speak of Hikind’s unparalleled constituent services. “It doesn’t matter how small you think a problem is,” he always told his staff. “When someone has a problem, that problem is HUGE to them. We can’t solve every problem, but we always have to try.” He embodies the Hebrew expression Lifnei meshuras ha’din (making sure to always go the extra mile). This has been his mantra since first taking office. This sincere caring for neighbors and his community has resulted in an endless parade of people seeking assistance from the Assemblyman. “If someone has a problem, I say, ‘Go to Dov.’ These are words spoken regularly throughout Brooklyn by young and old alike. And it wasn’t just about everyday problems. Dov Hikind has never shied away from controversial issues. He was the first elected official in his community to highlight the problem of kids at risk and enlisted the help of former NY Governor George Pataki in convening a task force for the state and local community groups to work in tandem to tackle this issue. Hikind was also the first elected official in his community to speak out about sexual abuse and to fight to protect victims and prevent further incidents. More recently, Hikind initiated a campaign to ensure that no child is ever again excluded from a yeshiva education. “Dov throws himself into solving problems because he genuinely feels other people’s pain,” said his biographer. “People come to him because they are suffering and Dov suffers with them. He makes it his business to get to the bottom of issues; to find solutions for the many and for the individual. This is what he lives for.” This commitment to making

Hikind Demands Justice In Crown Heights Following Attempted Murder; $50K Reward Offered For Info Leading To Arrest

New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) says the Jewish community is in a state of shock and fear following an unprovoked, vicious attack on a 50-year-old man walking home from prayers on the Sabbath. A reward of $50,000 for information leading to the apprehension of the suspect has been offered by a noted philanthropist from Los Angeles. “There’s one violent incident after another; one attack after another—always on innocent, vulnerable members of the Jewish community, and always with a racist, anti-Semitic message,” said Assemblyman Hikind. “The Crown Heights community feels like they are under siege and this has to stop immediately. The police must increase their protection of these innocent people.” The attack occurred on Saturday, April 21, at around 1:30 p.m. on Rutland Road near Schenectady Avenue in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn. The victim, a resident of the community for three years, was taken to Kingsbrook Jewish Hospital after suffering a cracked rib along with bruising and scratches across his body. The assailant remains at large. He was described by the victim as tall and muscular African American, in his 40s, with a small beard. The victim said he only said good afternoon to the man who then told him, “You fake Jews, who are you saying hello to? You’re fake Jews and you stole all my money and robbed me and stole my mortgage and my house. I want to kill you!” After being chased and caught, the victim was put in a choke hold and began to pass out when the attack was broken up by two passersby. This is the second week in a row that a hate crime occurred in Crown Heights. Last weekend, a 42-year-old Jewish man visiting Crown Heights was attacked on Eastern Parkway. “Will Brooklyn become like Paris now?” asked Assemblyman Hikind. “Will we start seeing people attacked with racial slurs on a regular basis? Do Jews here really have to fear for their lives from criminal thugs? We need a strong and immediate response to these hate crimes, and I won’t rest while this continues!” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Hikind Launches PolandMurderedJews.com; Consul General of Poland Says He Is ‘Deeply Worried’

New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) has launched a new website called PolandMurderedJews.com in defiance of the law recently passed by Poland, which forbids discussion of Poland’s role in the Holocaust. The website, which opens with a video of Hikind discussing the need for historical accuracy, will display facts about Poland’s official atrocities before, during and after World War II. “Poland’s attempt to whitewash its role in the murder of innocent men, women and children via their despicable Holocaust Denial Law has had a chilling effect on all of us who understand what really occurred in Poland—both before, during and after the war,” said Hikind. “I am the son of Holocaust survivors who lost their families in Auschwitz. I’ve met with hundreds of survivors throughout my lifetime, and throughout my 36 years in public office. I believe my district contains more survivors than any other district in the country. We know the truth and we’re not going to allow Poland to deny what they did. “The new Polish law is bad enough,” Hikind continued. “Hearing Poland’s Prime Minister and his father add insult to injury is bad enough. But most importantly, Jewish leaders in Poland have made it clear that they are fearful of new and mounting dangers in Poland, which now denies its history of official anti-Semitism. Telling the truth to the world and protecting future generations of innocent Jews is incumbent upon all of those who G-d empowers with the ability to make a difference.” Within hours of launching his new website, Hikind came under fire from the Consul General of Poland in New York, Maciej Golubiewski. Golubiewski wrote, “It is deeply worrisome that someone representing the city of New York in the New York State Assembly would purposefully use the expression that has been officially condemned.” “I’m not the least surprised that the truth is disturbing to Poland’s officials,” Hikind retorted. “If they were committed to the truth, they would take responsibility for their role in this great historical tragedy. Let Poland condemn what occurred and work toward making certain that something like this never occurs to any people. Whitewashing history is an irresponsible, dishonest way to expunge their guilt. And they’re not fooling anyone.” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

A New Bridge Comes To Brooklyn; Hikind Pushes For 51st Street Bridge To Ease Traffic From Boro Park To Flatbush

New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) has asked the NYC Department of Transportation to perform a feasibility study in the hope of erecting a bridge between 18th and 19th Avenues on 51st Street. This bridge would alleviate the current traffic congestion, which will increase dramatically as the result of a new development being built directly off 50th Street (between 19th Avenue and Dahill). “51st Street dead-ends between 18th and 19th Avenues—this has always created a bottleneck of traffic,” Hikind explained in a letter to Polly Trottenberg, Commissioner of the New York City Department of Transportation. “The new development will effectively quadruple local traffic once people move in. A bridge would make all the difference, allowing traffic to flow much more easily from Boro Park to Flatbush. Addressing the traffic congestion in this part of my district would be an enormous benefit to all of our residents.” Hikind and his community liaison Chesky Klein recently met with residents from the area to discuss the viability of a bridge. Assemblyman Dov Hikind Says 500 Children Could Not Find Schools This Year

As we prepare to celebrate Pesach and commemorate the Jewish people’s exodus from Egypt, there are unfortunately families in our community who remain enslaved to a broken educational system. Six months into this current school year, we have as many as 500 children who could not find schools. This is unacceptable. I am committing myself to seeking a real solution to this problem so that this upcoming school year, there is not a single child who has been denied a seat in a yeshiva. If YOUR child has not been placed in a school, or if you suffered from seeing your child unplaced until recently, please contact my office. You can remain anonymous. Men should contact Dov Cohen and women may speak with Sharon Fuchs. Contact us via phone, email or mail. Together, as a community, and with G-d’s help, we can create an educational system where no child is ever again left behind. Wishing everyone a chag kasher v’someach. VIDEO: Hikind’s Call to Action: No More Children Left Behind

Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) is devoting himself to making sure that no child is excluded from yeshiva in the upcoming school year. In a new video, Hikind discusses how he has heard from too many parents whose sons and daughters are still not in a yeshiva or girl’s school. “We are in late March and sadly there are hundreds of children who are still not in yeshiva,” says Hikind. “I have listened to the pain of fathers who have shared with me how they go into a room and cry. This problem has been talked about for too long. My office has been involved in numerous cases, and other individuals in our community also work hard to help, but there are still hundreds of children who have not seen the walls of a classroom all year long! For whatever reason, they were not accepted into a school yet, and this is unacceptable! “More needs to be done and we are working to make sure that in the upcoming school year no child is left behind. There is never an excuse. There is never a reason for a child not to be sitting and learning Torah. Imagine what it does to the child–the anguish, the humiliation… Or to the parents—having to beg and plead with schools to take their child. This is something that I have done, too. Over the years, I’ve begged and pleaded with schools to please take someone’s child in. And most of the time the child who was initially refused turns out to be one of the great kids in that yeshiva!” Hikind promised to do more than just underscore the terrible crisis and says that he is already hard at work on the issue. “No child can be left behind in our community,” he said. “No child!” Hikind’s video can be seen here: (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

WATCH: Farrakhan Goes On Anti-Semitic Rant; Hikind Calls On DNC Chairman To Denounce Racist Remarks

(VIDEOS IN EXTENDED ARTICLE) NY State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) is calling on Tom Perez, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, to condemn the hateful, anti-Semitic pronouncements recently made by Louis Farrakhan. During a widely publicized speech delivered in Chicago on Sunday, Farrakhan made numerous anti-Semitic comments, including, “the powerful Jews are my enemy…White folks are going down… Farrakhan has pulled the cover off of that Satanic Jew.” Farrakhan was not shy in making it known, Jews are his enemy. pic.twitter.com/oKfrLReIAM — ADL (@ADL_National) February 28, 2018 “Sadly, there are too many members of our party—elected officials who should know better—who are eager to condemn racism when it comes from the right, but turn a blind eye when it’s from the left, or, in particular, when it’s aimed at Jews,” said Hikind. “It’s hard to be a Democrat in the face of this hypocrisy, this obvious double standard. Congressman Danny Davis is just the most recent example of a prominent Democrat who is willing to associate with Farrakhan while turning a blind eye to his racist, divisive philosophy.” The FBI has been the worst enemy of Black advancement. The Jews have control over those agencies of government. #Farrakhan pic.twitter.com/DXKCRr1zpo — MINISTER FARRAKHAN (@LouisFarrakhan) March 7, 2018 He finished his speech by threatening Jews, saying “their time is up” and that Jews will burn in hell. pic.twitter.com/vlcuJI0Ldd — ADL (@ADL_National) February 28, 2018 Hikind said regardless of whether it comes from the left or the right, Democrats should find racism fully unacceptable. “I appreciate Chairman Perez’s leadership and believe it would be enormously beneficial for all of us if he shows true leadership on this extremely important issue—for the sake of not only the Democratic Party but our entire nation. Young people in America, to say nothing of the rest of the world, look to see how prominent voices in positions of power will respond to Farrakhan’s dangerous, hateful rhetoric. It is imperative our party’s chairman encourages other Democrats to stand up and speak out against Farrakhan’s Hitler-esque invective.” What have I done to make Jewish people hate me? pic.twitter.com/2cSiLCmsQY — MINISTER FARRAKHAN (@LouisFarrakhan) March 7, 2018 Then Farrakhan goes on to claim Jews are “the mothers and fathers of apartheid” pic.twitter.com/9NFpeiUw4g — ADL (@ADL_National) February 28, 2018 This is the man and this is his rhetoric. Hikind Calls Fellow Democrat A Shameful Hypocrite After Association With Farrakhan Is Revealed

New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) had harsh words for fellow Democrat Danny Davis when it was revealed that the Congressman from Illinois proudly associates with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, a notorious anti-Semite. Davis reportedly confirmed in an interview Sunday with the Daily Caller that he has a personal relationship with Farrakhan, and that he “isn’t bothered by Farrakhan’s position on ‘the Jewish question.’” [RELATED: SHOCKER: Photo Of Obama With Jew-Hater Louis Farrakhan Was Hidden For Years [FLASHBACK VIDEO]] Farrakhan has repeatedly denounced Jews as “satanic,” praised Hitler as a “very great man” and has said that white people “deserve to die.” Davis had previously told The Daily Caller that he considers Farrakhan an “outstanding human being” and said he regularly meets with Farrakhan. On Sunday, he reiterated: “I know Farrakhan, been knowing him for years and years and years and years and years.” Davis also bragged to the Daily Caller that he knows Farrakhan better than Democratic Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, a former Nation of Islam member who repeatedly attended meetings with Farrakhan during his time in Congress. “Congressman Davis should be ashamed of himself,” said Hikind. “He is not some freshman Congressman who can claim ignorance of what Farrakhan is; the Congressman has represented his constituents for two decades. He knows that Farrakhan, who praises Hitler, would actually be in good company with the fascist, murdering dictator. “It’s a sick double standard that many so-called progressive liberals have adopted. They jump up to defend human rights of some, but then are willing to associate themselves with notorious haters like Linda Sarsour or Louis Farrakhan. They look away from the horrible things these people espouse and would be willing to do to the human beings they oppose if only they had the power to do so. “Louis Farrakhan is not a borderline character. He is a frothing, raving anti-Semite, anti-white demagogue whose message is frightening and dangerous.” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Hikind Asks Prosecutor To Investigate Bogus Tickets From Palisades Interstate Police

NY State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) says something is fishy on the Palisades Interstate and has asked the Bergen County Prosecutor to look into bogus ticketing practices. The call to Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal came after Hikind received complaints from New Yorkers of ticketing practices that were more than a little peculiar. “Countless New Yorkers commute back and forth from New York to New Jersey, and more than once I have heard of bogus tickets being issued on the Palisades Parkway,” said Assemblyman Hikind. “The latest injustice occurred when my constituent was issued tickets that he should not have received and was forced to accept a guilty verdict to save time and money.” The man in question was driving his brother’s large passenger vehicle when he was pulled over by a Palisades Interstate patrolman for driving a commercial vehicle on the Palisades. The Brooklyn resident presented his brother’s vehicle registration which made it clear that the vehicle was not a commercial vehicle at all. “I presume that the court saw how ludicrous this was because the four different ticket’s fines were reduced to a combined total of ‘only’ $50.00,” Hikind explained. “It seems clear that this was just a matter of extorting a cornered motorist into paying a fine for a crime he was not guilty of. In light of the stories that I have heard from other New Yorkers, I believe there is a pattern here. As such, I am asking for an investigation into the practices of the Palisades Interstate Police.” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Hikind Asks March Of The Living To Suspend Upcoming Trip To Poland

New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) is calling upon the International March of the Living to suspend its upcoming trip to Poland in light of that country’s recent denial of its role in the Holocaust. In a letter to Dr. Shmuel Rosenman, Chairman of the International March of the Living, Hikind expressed his enormous admiration for the unique, extraordinary educational program, but said that the program can make an even greater difference this year by suspending its trip. “Seeing Poland’s government attempt to whitewash its role in the murder of innocent men, women and children via their despicable Holocaust Denial Law has had a chilling effect on all of us who understand what really occurred in Poland—both before, during and after the war,” said Hikind. “As the son of Holocaust survivors who lost their families in Auschwitz, I have the greatest admiration for the outstanding work done by the International March of the Living. I believe there’s a chance they can help undo the terrible injustice now occurring in Poland by suspending their upcoming march this April. As vital as their past trips have been, they are in a unique position to make an impact on Poland and especially the many young people who will know of their actions if the March of the Living suspends its trip this year. “The new Polish law is bad enough,” Hikind continued. “Hearing Poland’s Prime Minister add insult to injury is bad enough. But most importantly, Jewish leaders in Poland have made it clear that they are fearful of new and mounting dangers in Poland, which now denies its history of official anti-Semitism. Not visiting the concentration camps where innocent souls were murdered by Nazis—many after being turned over by their Polish neighbors—will be a statement heard around the world. Holding back the 12,000 travelers who spend their money in Poland is a statement that will not be ignored. More, protecting future generations of innocent Jews is incumbent upon all of those who G-d empowers with the ability to make a difference.” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Hikind, Felder Offer Reward For Info Leading To Arrest Of Hate Crime Perp

New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind and New York State Senator Simcha Felder are offering a $3000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator who carved swastikas into two car windows last night in Borough Park. “Once again, the specter of hate rears its ugly head in our community,” said Felder. “I am outraged and saddened to learn of the recent etching of swastikas into the windows of two cars in Boro Park. As home to the largest number of Holocaust survivors in the United States, this obvious hate crime is particularly egregious and painful.” “It takes a special kind of sick, mean-spirited hatred to sneak out in the middle of the night and do something like this to people you’ve never met, just because they are Jews,” said Hikind. “I’m hopeful our excellent police department will catch the perpetrator of this hate crime—as others have been caught in the past—and look forward to seeing the person brought to justice for their cruel vandalism.” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Hikind: Time For Jews To Keep Out Of Poland, After PM’s Outrageous Holocaust Remarks

New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) says it’s time for Jews to cease visiting Poland. Hikind says that the recent “Holocaust Denial Law” that Poland passed was bad enough, but now that Poland’s Prime Minister has decided to blame the Jews for the unspeakable tragedy of the Holocaust, it’s clear that Poland is once again becoming unsafe for Jews to even visit. “Poland’s Prime Minister continues to add insult to injury,” said Hikind, whose grandparents were murdered in Auschwitz. “It’s bad enough that their grandparents murdered innocent men, women and children. Bad enough that three-quarters of a century later they have passed a shameful law meant to deny their complicity in these crimes. Now the Prime Minister of Poland wants to blame the victims. This is shameful, unconscionable behavior that can only lead to more tragedies. I think that everyone—and especially Jews—should avoid visiting Poland until an apology has been issued and it is made clear that both Jews and the truth are welcome in Poland.” Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki recently defended his country’s new law, which makes referring to “Polish concentration camps” punishable by fines and imprisonment. Morawiecki’s comments included references to “Jewish perpetrators” of the Holocaust, which Hikind says is an outrageous distortion of the facts. “I was personally planning to go to Poland to visit the camps where my family was held, but I can no longer visit Poland in good conscience, as I have before,” said Hikind. “I don’t think any of us should. Unlike Germany, which has taken responsibility for what it did during the Holocaust, Poland is in a state of dangerous denial. “We all know the saying, ‘Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.’ This is more than a slippery slope for Poland—it is an official proclamation from the government and its Prime Minister that Jewish lives are cheap. Until an apology has been issued, I don’t consider Poland a fit place for Jews.” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Hikind: Schumer’s Jab At Orthodox Jews Is ‘Hypocritical Chutzpah’

NYS Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) called Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s recent criticism of the Orthodox Jews the height of political hypocrisy. At a meeting between Jewish organizational officials and Democratic senators, Schumer blamed Orthodox Jews for not doing more to call out President Trump on what the Senator felt was Trump’s failure to confront hate in the United States. “Singling out Orthodox Jews was distasteful, shameful and arrogant,” said Hikind, a fellow Democrat. “This statement of Senator Schumer’s was nothing less than his playing to his progressive liberal base. If the Senator was genuinely concerned about confronting hate and anti-Semitism, he wouldn’t have given President Obama a pass when the Obama administration did everything possible to marginalize Israel. Where was Schumer when Linda Sarsour showed support for terrorists and undermined the existence of Israel? Or when Black Lives Matter adopted anti-Israel platforms? Has the Senator held press conferences confronting the racist BDS movement, which seeks to isolate and starve innocent Israelis? The best candidate who Senator Schumer saw fit to lead the DNC was Keith Ellison, a friend of Louis Farakhan who called Hitler ‘a great man.’ “The Orthodox community does not need to be lectured by Senator Schumer. Let the good Senator work on alleviating anti-Israel animus within segments of the Democratic party. Because, as we all know, anti-Israel rhetoric and ‘anti-Zionism’ is simply the 21st century version of anti-Semitism.” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Hikind Praises Facebook For Addressing Previous Exclusion Of Israel

NYS Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) thanked Facebook management for taking immediate corrective action after he made them aware of Israel’s exclusion from their profile options. Now, when creating a background profile on Facebook, users can choose the Israeli flag as their frame. “As I pointed out to Facebook less than 48 hours ago, Palestine is not even a country, so including Palestine, as they had, and excluding Israel was insulting and sent the wrong message,” said Hikind. “I was fairly certain that Facebook’s upper management, and especially CEO Mark Zuckerberg, were unaware of the issue. I am grateful that thanks to our efforts, Facebook has done the right thing—and quickly. “There is another lesson in this, too,” Hikind added. “When you see something that’s wrong, don’t just sit there. Speak up!” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Hikind Calls Facebook Exclusion Of Israel ‘Shameful’

NYS Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) is calling on Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg to take immediate action on Facebook’s “shameful” exclusion of Israel. When creating a background profile on Facebook, users are given 50 nationality options. These options include Palestine, while Israel is conspicuously absent. “Palestine is not even a country,” said Hikind. “How did it end up as an option? Well, we all know the answer to that. I suspect some racist programmer was able to slip that by while purposefully excluding Israel as an option. That’s insulting and Facebook should be held accountable. “Mark Zuckerberg has been quoted as saying, ‘As a Jew, my parents taught me that we must stand up against attacks on all communities.’ I am calling on Mr. Zuckerberg to get to the bottom of this attack on Jews and Israelis. The exclusion of Israel from Facebook, a publicly traded company, while Palestine is included is no accident—it’s a purposeful, racist insult that must be addressed immediately.” Hikind also asked Facebook users to utilize the “report a problem” feature on the Facebook Help menu to enlighten Facebook of the issue. Hikind Says Metropolitan Pool In Williamsburg To Increase Hours For Women

At the urging of New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn), women will now receive additional swim time at the Metropolitan Pool Recreation Center in Williamsburg. Hikind thanked Mayor de Blasio for the extra time allotted to women and said the pool at 261 Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn will be adding an addition hour of women’s only swim at 6pm on Thursday evenings, beginning February 8, 2018. After the hours for women’s only swim time were cut last year, Hikind began fighting for this restoration. “Numerous women called my office when the hours were cut,” said Hikind. “For Observant Jewish women, there is no choice: If they aren’t permitted to swim separately from men, they are not permitted to swim. The Constitution permits reasonable accommodation and that’s all we asked for from the very start. This accommodation does not take away from the general public. On the contrary: It is victory for women and human rights, allowing religious women equal access to public services. While I’m pleased with this victory, I fully intend to fight for additional hours for these women.” The Metropolitan Pool Recreation Center hours for women are Sundays 2:45pm-4:45pm (women and girls), Wednesdays 9am-11am (women only) and, beginning February 8, Thursdays 6pm-7pm (women only). In addition to praising Mayor de Blasio, Hikind thanked his colleague NYS Assemblyman Joe Lentol; Mitchell Silver, Commissioner of the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation; and the Human Rights Commission for adding the additional time. Hikind Asks Sessions To Detain A Nazi And Illegal Alien Living In NYC

New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) is calling on United States Attorney General Jeff Sessions to detain Jakiw Palij, the Nazi War Criminal who despite his status as an illegal alien continues to reside comfortably in Queens, New York. Hikind requested that Palij be immediately taken into custody as an illegal alien and held in detention pending the Justice Department’s ongoing efforts to deport him. “Placing Palij in a detention center is both practical and proper,” Hikind explained. “Mandatory detention of illegal aliens was officially authorized by President Clinton in 1996 with the enactment of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act. In 2003, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) was created to enforce the United States’ immigration and customs laws, while the Office of Detention and Removal Operations (DRO) oversees the detention and deportation of immigrants taken into custody by ICE. Currently, ICE detains immigrants in fifteen detention centers.” Hikind’s request follows more than a decade of efforts to expose and deport Palij. His deportation order was upheld by the courts in 2004 but as of today, Palij remains a resident of Queens. “The rights and freedoms enjoyed in America should not extend to those who helped facilitate the death of countless innocent people,” Hikind continued. “Palij’s presence here mocks the memory of the millions who perished,” he said. “There is no question of his guilt. It is imperative that someone responsible for Nazi atrocities be held accountable for his crimes. While his victims can no longer seek justice, we must, and with this new administration and Attorney General, there’s reason to believe we’ll see that justice. Until then, I’m never giving up.” Since discovering the Nazi in New York, Hikind, the son of Holocaust survivors, has maintained a relentless campaign to deport Palij. Year after year, Hikind has led rallies outside of the Nazi’s home calling for his deportation. He also brought the Nazi’s presence in New York to the attention of numerous elected officials. Last year, Hikind led an effort by 85 New York State legislators to convince the U.S. Department of Justice to finally remove Palij. Hikind’s call for justice for Palij was echoed by the entire New York Congressional delegation, as well as numerous Senators including NY State Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. Hikind recently released an emotional video about Palij, encouraging U.S. citizens to call the White House and demand justice. (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Hikind Furious That Nazi Monuments Will Remain In NYC

Following an announcement that New York City plans to put new historical markers around a statue of Christopher Columbus explaining his history, NYS Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) expressed shock and disappointment that monuments to Nazi collaborators Marshal Philippe Pétain and Pierre Laval will remain in the Canyon of Heroes. Responsible for the murder of 100,000 men, women and children, Pétain and Laval are reviled in their native France, where no one would think to erect a monument to any Nazi collaborator. “It is immoral to publicly display the names of Nazis,” said Hikind. “Every day, we are confronted with bigotry and divisiveness. New Yorkers have an obligation to say, ‘Not in our city.’ We have a moral obligation to educate the public, and especially young people, by removing markers that commemorate individuals who willingly participated in the systematic murder of innocent men, women and children. Does anyone disagree with this? I don’t think so. The excuse that it’s too difficult is absurd and sends the wrong message.” Last May, Assemblyman Hikind brought awareness of the two monuments directly to the mayor asking that they be removed. In August, Governor Andrew Cuomo ordered the removal of busts of two Confederate generals from CUNY’s Hall of Fame for Great Americans in the Bronx. “New York says monuments to Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson aren’t fit but allows Nazi collaborators to remain? I hope the mayor takes another serious look at this issue,” said Hikind. “These monuments should be torn out.” The granite markers commemorating Pétain and Laval are located on Morris and Broadway in the Wall Street area’s “Canyon of Heroes.” Both men helped the Nazis deport and murder nearly 100,000 Jews, as well as Gypsies and homosexuals. After the war, Laval was executed for his war crimes. Pétain was convicted of treason in 1945 and sentenced to death by firing squad but France’s President Charles de Gaulle commuted the sentence to life imprisonment. (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Hikind, NYC DOT Work To Alleviate Traffic Congestion

Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) and the Brooklyn Department of Transportation believe they are closer to relieving some of the traffic congestion in Brooklyn, including Hikind’s district. At a meeting yesterday, NYC DOT Borough Commissioner Keith Bray and his staff discussed adding business-hours deliveries with night-time deliveries in a pilot program that will include 900 locations. Beginning in January, 2018, the DOT hopes to see this pilot program include 13th, 16th and 18th Avenues in Boro Park, as well as several main thoroughfares in Midwood. It was at Hikind’s urging months ago that NYC DOT began to explore moving the night-time delivery program that is already successful in Manhattan into Hikind’s district. Next steps include identifying vendors who supply the stores as well as agreements from merchants who are interested in the program. “I can’t think of anyone who is happy with Boro Park’s growing traffic, especially along the main thoroughfares,” said Assemblyman Hikind, who has been working with the community boards to come up with possible solutions. “I want to thank Commissioner Bray and his team for thoroughly examining my suggestions. Implementing a program like this would be a first for the outer boroughs. It would improve the quality of life for everyone in our community—not just the people who live here but also those who are making deliveries because the deliveries would also be faster. I look forward to reporting further about our progress.” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Hikind Says, ‘I Warned You’ As Sarsour Boasts Of Fundraiser For Group With Ties To Hamas

New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) is having an I-told-you-so moment. Hikind—a Democrat—was the first elected official to expose Linda Sarsour’s ties to terrorists and now, just days after leading a panel on anti-Semitism at the New School, Sarsour participated in a fundraising event for a group with ties to the Hamas terrorist organization. “Over $275K raised tonight in Seattle for our Promise for Palestine Tour w/ Islamic Relief—Now we are celebrating,” Sarsour Tweeted yesterday afternoon. In 2014, Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon banned Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) from operating in Israel. Israel believes IRW, which markets itself as a charitable agency that solicits donations from all over the world, funnels cash to Hamas. Ya’alon’s ban came after the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), the coordinator for government activities in the territories, and legal authorities provided incriminating information against IRW. “The IRW is another source of funds for Hamas,” said Hikind. “Sarsour knows this as well as anyone—and better than most. She also understands anti-Semitism because she’s been practicing it her entire life. This latest slight-of-hand—crying about ‘anti-Semitism’ while raising funds for terrorists—should be a wakeup call to her supporters.” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

Hikind Applauds Justice Department, Trump Admin For Commitment To Remove New York’s Nazi

Assembly Member Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) applauded the U.S. Department of Justice after the Department committed to pursue every avenue to remove Nazi Jakiw Palij from the United States. The Department of Justice was responding to Hikind’s relentless effort to bring justice to Palij, a known Nazi War Criminal who continues to live comfortably in Queens, NY. “I have been reaching out to high-level members of the Trump Administration,” said Hikind, the son of Holocaust survivors who insists that the President personally take up this issue. “The rights and freedoms we enjoy in America should not extend to those who facilitated the death of countless innocent people. Palij’s presence here mocks the memory of the millions who perished. There is no question of his guilt. It is imperative that someone responsible for Nazi atrocities be held accountable for his crimes, regardless of his age. I will never rest while a Nazi lives comfortably in our country.” Stephen E. Boyd, the U.S. Assistant Attorney General, wrote to Hikind, “The Department agrees fully that Palij should not live out his last days in this country. The Department remains committed to ensuring that justice is done in this case and we will continue, in cooperation with our interagency partners, to pursuing every avenue for effectuating Palij’s removal.” During World War II, Palij worked at the Trawniki training camp, where Nazi troops were trained to carry out the extermination of Polish Jews. Thousands of innocents were murdered there. Palij came to America claiming that he was a farmer and war refugee, concealing his work as a Nazi guard, and was granted citizenship in 1957. After his past became known, he was stripped of his U.S. citizenship. His deportation order was upheld by the courts in 2004 but as of today, Palij remains a resident of Queens. In June, Hikind and his late colleague Assemblyman Michael Simanowitz (D-Queens) led 83 members of the New York State Assembly, including Majority Leader Joseph D. Morelle, in urging U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions to finally deport Palij. The next day, the World Jewish Congress echoed Hikind, calling on the State Department to do its job. “Palij’s presence here mocks the memory of those who perished,” said Hikind. “It mocks the U.S. servicemen who fought and died to defeat the evil Nazi regime. It mocks the American justice system. I’m confident that our President wants to do the right thing and has the means to do so. It’s time for our President to show the world how murderous fiends should be regarded and disposed of. It’s time to take Jakiw Palij, this monster who is beneath contempt and unfit to breath American air, and kick him the hell out of here once and for all.” (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)
