Nechomah: Point taken. To be more precise, for political reasons they don’t know it well enough to speak it conversationally. This problem exists across all streams of Jewry — people don’t know our ancestral language well enough to use it. Even moder Hebrew speakers have this problem to some extent because the grammar of modern Hebrew is more like Yiddish than like the Hebrew of Tanach or even that of the Rishonim.
