cutie/adorable – This is what happens when you don’t tell the whole history. I wouldn’t have missed the diagnosis if you would have posted this in the git go – “he also gave me a paste to put on my gums (they looked red to him)”! Since you saw a gum specialist (peridontist), I deduce you have either gingivitis or peridontitis. These diseases can cause a lot of Pain. This usually is treated with root & scaling, but they can give you some meds like a paste.
The best prevention of these disorders is good oral hygiene. Brush & Floss 2-3 times a day for at least 2-3 – 5 minutes. You must brush your gums and gumline. Use a proxa brush. Use Listerine twice a day! These suggestions come from a book called “Doctors book of Home Remedies”. You can find more suggestions there. I think they might have a website which contains all the info from the book called -“Mother’s Nature”.
