And how come Jews still managed to be an elite in Eretz Yisrael, Babilonia, Persia, etc…? Most sephardic jews were wealthy or middle-class at worst, in the diaspora,….and they ended up being low-paid blue-collar workers in Ashdod, Ashkelon, Be’er Sheva, etc…
