kapusta, sounds like your friend means well just isn’t exactly a professional in the field. (btw, no therapist would ever force a client to talk before the client is ready.) Could be she is right about both the first and second part, it isn’t healthy to keep everything inside for very long. It often ends up sneaking out in the most unexpected way at the most unexpected time, it might even shock you when it happens. Whether or not she’s right, you do NOT have to tell her anything that you don’t want to. You can very nicely tell her thank you so much for caring about me, I’m dealing with the situation in the way that is easiest for me right now. When I’m ready to talk (and it doesn’t ever have to be to her,) I know that you’re here for me. End.
