Israel real estate is very expensive, Unless you want to live in Arad , Ahskelon , The Middle of the Galil or some outpost on the West Bank you will pay alot of money for housing.
takahmamash ..I knew a neighbor who was a NYC public school teacher, he made Aliyah and the only job he could get in israel was a painter, he had to come back and did not return until he retired (with a NYC teachers pension). I know people who were Lawyers here and are barely surviving there because they cannot pass the Israel Bar Exam in Hebrew.
