My chavrusa shared a nice idea with me, that I think the coffee room can definitely benefit from (especially those perusing this thread). How about totally disconnecting from technology for the first half hour after lighting the menorah? I tried it last night, I just turned off my phone and I really think it helped me internalize the message of Chanukah without the distraction.
