Reply To: The purpose of mechila

Based on what do you say “if your ready don’t grant it?” I am not talking about ill feelings toward another as much as sadness and pain that such person caused. It seems mechila is a mechanical act. If we waited until a person was “ready” it could months or years, and I don’t think the person asking for mechila wants that type of time period. Thanks for your good wishes, but my sense is people ask mechila “because it’s the right thing to do,” and we grant it for the same reason.
