When I understand the statement under the Kisei hakavod it seems like that’s the highest point, basically it’s the best thing to die al kiddush Hashem (something which rav Akiva was hoping for his whole life)

And we do it for an aliyas (going up) so if you’re at the top what other benefit is there?
