thats the limitation of using a pain scale. each person experiences pain differently. the way it works is tell the patient “on a scale of 0-10, 0 being no pain and 10 being the worst pain you have ever experienced in your life, how would you rate your pain at this moment?” when using it for myself, an 8/10 means im in bed, curled in a ball (or the position that is least painful) crying in pain. (does not usually progress that far as i take motrin before it gets that bad. B”H it does not reach that level often)
