Sparkly, my original statement was that either it is muttar or assur according to Halacha. What a Rabbi says does not change that. Rabbis can’t change Halacha.
Sparkly, I have noticed from some of your posts that you seem to be confused about something. You seem to have this idea that if someone has the title Rabbi, then everything he says is true and you can believe it and act accordingly. If someone says something that is against the Torah, the fact that he has the title Rabbi does not make it true, regardless of whether he calls himself an MO Rabbi or a Chareidi Rabbi etc. I also know a “Chareidi Rabbi” who told people that it’s okay to not be shomer negiah. That didn’t make it okay. It did make him unqualified to hold the title Rabbi. The same goes for your “modern orthodox Rabbi” if he is fact telling people that.
